Joining & Membership
Aberdeen Sub-Aqua Club endeavours to keep the cost of diving as low as practical.
Members of the Aberdeen club must be members of the British Sub-Aqua Club. For details of the BSAC fees and benefits see the BSAC website. There are reduced BSAC fees for students, couples and people with certain qualifications.
The Aberdeen club is unable to offer initial training at present but we have two categories of membership: full diving membership (£65 per year) and non-diving membership (£20 per year). Non-diving membership is useful for people acquiring initial qualifications elsewhere, as it provides for them a source of support and advice. It is also useful for people who drop out of active diving temporarily or permanently due to "life events" but who want to stay in touch with and support the sport.
Post-initial training is provided by the club through volunteer instructors. Members also have access to training events organised regionally or nationally by BSAC.
There are additional charges for training packs. There is also a fee of £15 per person per day for use of the club boat, including fuel.
